Royal Opera House Muscat welcomed internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča for her highly anticipated Oman debut, marking another distinguished moment in the opening week of ROHM’s 15th Anniversary Season.
Taking to the stage with the Orchestra Teatro Regio Torino, under the baton of renowned conductor Karel Mark Chichon, Garanča presented a carefully curated programme of operatic favourites that showcased the richness, range and expressive depth that have defined her international career.
The evening brought together one of the world’s leading operatic voices with the musical depth of Orchestra Teatro Regio Torino, creating a performance of remarkable presence and refinement. Garanča’s commanding artistry and distinctive vocal expression carried the audience through a programme celebrating the enduring power and emotion of opera.
Her Oman debut also formed an important part of a landmark opening week for Royal Opera House Muscat, taking place between the two performances of ROHM’s acclaimed production of Verdi’s Rigoletto on 1 and 3 October. Together, the performances set the tone for a season celebrating 15 years of inspiration, artistic excellence and cultural dialogue between Oman and the world.
As the final notes filled the auditorium, the evening marked not only Elīna Garanča’s first performance in Oman, but another memorable chapter in Royal Opera House Muscat’s continuing journey of bringing exceptional international artistry to audiences in the Sultanate.
