Beyond our financial performance, the first half of the year has been characterised by strategic milestones that reinforce our role as Your Partner in Excellence and reflect our commitment to innovation, integrity, responsibility and sustainability.”
During the first half of 2026, ahlibank and ahli islamic continued to strengthen their role in financing strategic sectors that support Oman’s economic diversification and long-term development priorities.
In renewable energy, ahli islamic, in partnership with O-Green, successfully closed the financing of a 93MW solar power project at Sohar Industrial City in collaboration with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn). The landmark project reinforces the bank’s contribution to Oman’s transition towards clean energy while demonstrating its expertise in financing large-scale and strategically important infrastructure projects.
Supporting the Sultanate’s mining sector, ahli islamic also participated in arranging RO 64 million in financing for Mawarid Mining Company to support the development and expansion of the Ghuzayn-3 Project, the Sultanate’s first underground copper mining project. The strategic financing will contribute to economic diversification while advancing the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
Further strengthening its commitment to sustainability, ahli islamic entered a strategic partnership with Verde Waste Management, providing Sharia-compliant short and long-term financing facilities to support waste collection, treatment, and operational activities across municipalities throughout Oman. The partnership reflects the bank’s continued commitment to supporting the national sustainability agenda while contributing to the development of environmental infrastructure.
Supporting entrepreneurship and SME development remained another key priority during the period. ahlibank signed a cooperation agreement with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) aimed at empowering Omani entrepreneurs and SME owners through a comprehensive range of financing and non-financing solutions designed to support the launch, development, and sustainable growth of their businesses.
The initiative further strengthens ahlibank’s role in supporting the SME ecosystem and fostering entrepreneurship as an important contributor to economic diversification and employment creation in the Sultanate.
The bank also continued to enhance its customer proposition through digital innovation. During the period, ahlibank and ahli islamic introduced the Maal Debit Card, Oman's first national payment card, developed under the Central Bank of Oman to ensure that digital transactions and payment processing remain entirely within the Sultanate. The initiative supports the development of the national payments ecosystem while offering customers a secure, efficient and locally processed payment experience.
The Bank’s continued progress was recognised through several prestigious regional awards, reaffirming ahlibank’s leadership across innovation, digital transformation, and customer excellence. During the period, the bank received the Excellence in Corporate Banking Award and the Excellence in Digital Banking Initiative Award at the New Age Banking Summit 2026, while ahli islamic was recognised as Best Retail Bank at the Middle East & North Africa Banking Excellence Awards.
Alongside its business achievements, ahlibank continued to strengthen its commitment to human capital development and social impact. During the period, more than 70 employees graduated from the bank's flagship Himam, iGeneration and Business Graduates Programme (BGP), reaffirming ahlibank's commitment to developing Omani talent and equipping future banking professionals with the technical expertise, leadership capabilities and digital skills required to support the evolving financial services sector.
The bank also continued to expand its community initiatives across financial inclusion, healthcare, education, and social development. Among the key initiatives delivered during the period were financial literacy workshops designed to enhance financial awareness among young people, continued support for Omani SMEs through ‘The Local’ initiative, employee blood donation campaigns, and a strategic partnership with the ‘Sanubader’ Team to provide essential medical equipment for patients from low-income families.
These initiatives reflect ahlibank’s long-standing commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable social impact through its ‘ahli Cares’ platform, reinforcing the bank’s belief that responsible banking extends beyond financial services to making a positive and lasting difference within the communities it serves.
Building on the momentum achieved during the first half of 2026, ahlibank remains well positioned to sustain its growth trajectory throughout the remainder of the year.
