Reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and advancing community well-being, ahlibank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sanubader Patient Service Team to extend essential support to more than 15 female cancer patients from low-income households. Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Omani Woman’s Day, the initiative reflects the bank’s continued efforts to address pressing societal needs through meaningful partnerships that enhance quality of life, promote social solidarity and provide sustainable support to vulnerable segments of the community.

The agreement was signed by Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Taghreed Turki Al Said, Honorary President of Sanubader Patient Service Team, alongside Ms.  Jumana Aflah Al Hashmi, AGM – Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at ahlibank, during a ceremony held at the bank’s Head Office in Wattayah. The collaboration marks another significant step in strengthening the bank’s community engagement efforts, with a particular focus on supporting women facing challenging health and financial circumstances.

Under the agreement, ahlibank will extend its support across three key areas designed to address the practical and everyday needs of female cancer patients. The first focuses on housing assistance through covering the rental expenses of medical accommodation for one year, benefiting patients travelling from remote areas to Muscat to undergo treatment. The second provides essential medical equipment to enhance patients’ comfort, facilitate home-based care and improve their overall well-being. The third area focuses on providing essential electrical home appliances to female patient-led households, helping improve living conditions and ease daily responsibilities during challenging periods.

Together, these three pillars represent an integrated approach to community support that extends beyond immediate medical needs to address the wider circumstances affecting patients and their families. By alleviating financial pressures, improving access to suitable accommodation and enhancing everyday living conditions, the initiative seeks to provide greater stability, dignity and peace of mind, enabling beneficiaries to focus on their treatment and recovery.

Commenting on the initiative, Jumana Al Hashmi, AGM – Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at ahlibank, stated: “The true value of corporate social responsibility lies in our ability to understand the challenges faced by the communities we serve and translate that understanding into meaningful action. At ahlibank, we believe that supporting patients goes beyond addressing their immediate medical needs; it also means recognizing the financial, emotional and everyday challenges that accompany their treatment journeys. Through this partnership, we aim to extend practical and compassionate support that brings greater stability and reassurance to women and their families. More importantly, we seek to demonstrate how purposeful collaboration can create a lasting impact on individual lives and contribute to a more caring and resilient society.”

Guided by its vision of responsible and sustainable growth, ahlibank remains committed to strengthening collaborative efforts with local community organizations and implementing initiatives that respond to evolving societal needs. By investing in partnerships that place human well-being at their core, the bank continues to reinforce its role as a partner in social responsibility, contributing to a more inclusive, compassionate and resilient society.
