Reinforcing the Sultanate's commitment to strengthening educational sustainability and investing in future generations, the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) has officially launched the Nibras Private Endowment Foundation, an educational endowment institution established under the supervision of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. The Foundation aims to preserve, grow and responsibly invest endowment assets, transforming their returns into sustainable educational opportunities that empower students, advance scientific research, foster innovation, and contribute to Oman’s long-term national development.

Nibras represents a forward-looking model for educational endowments, bringing together the enduring legacy of Waqf with best practices in governance, investment, and institutional management to ensure lasting impact and deliver long-term value to society. Through sustainable investment returns, the Foundation will support eligible students, advance scientific research, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, promote financial technology (FinTech) and artificial intelligence (AI), and cultivate strategic partnerships that strengthen human capital development. In doing so, Nibras contributes to the national priorities of Oman Vision 2040 by advancing a knowledge-based society and an innovation-driven, sustainable economy.

Founded by the College of Banking and Financial Studies, Nibras operates under a comprehensive legal and governance framework approved by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and is governed by an independent Board of Directors, reflecting its commitment to transparency, accountability, institutional excellence, and the highest standards of endowment management.

Commenting on the launch of the Foundation and its vision for the future, Mr. Hisham Abdul Malik Al Hinai, Chief Executive Officer of Nibras Private Endowment Foundation, said: "The launch of Nibras represents an important step towards revitalizing the role of educational endowments as a strategic contributor to national development. Throughout history, endowments have been among the most enduring forms of giving because they create opportunities that continue to benefit society across generations. At Nibras, we aspire to transform generosity into sustainable educational impact through responsible governance, prudent investment, and meaningful partnerships. By investing in people, knowledge, and innovation today, we are helping to build a stronger, more resilient future that empowers national talent, advances research, and contributes to Oman’s long-term prosperity."

Nibras is guided by six core institutional values—stewardship, sustainability, transparency, inclusion, partnership, and excellence; which underpin every investment decision and every initiative supported by the Foundation. These principles ensure that every contribution entrusted to Nibras creates measurable, lasting value while preserving the integrity and purpose of the endowment for future generations.

As it embarks on its journey, Nibras will actively cultivate partnerships with government entities, private sector organizations, donors, and the wider community to establish scholarships, research funds, academic chairs, entrepreneurship programs, and strategic collaborative initiatives that strengthen Oman's educational ecosystem and create sustainable opportunities for generations to come.

Through its long-term vision, Nibras Private Endowment Foundation aspires to become a trusted national model for educational endowments, preserving the enduring values of waqf while embracing innovation, advancing knowledge, and creating a legacy of sustainable impact that contributes meaningfully to Oman’s future and generations to come.
