Sohar International has announced the soft launch of its new Customer Service Unit (CSU) at the Arrivals Hall of Muscat International Airport, extending its presence to one of the Sultanate’s primary gateways. Designed to serve tourists, investors, residents, citizens and business travellers, the unit brings banking support closer to customers while helping them explore travel, lifestyle and destination-related services primarily through Sohar International’s mobile app.

The soft launch marks the beginning of the CSU’s operations, establishing a welcoming point of contact for people arriving in Oman. By combining in-person guidance with access to digital services, the unit reflects the Bank’s ambition to support customers beyond their financial needs and become part of their wider experience in the Sultanate.

Commenting on the soft launch, Abdulwahid Mohamed Al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International, said: “For many people, arriving in Oman marks the beginning of a holiday, a business opportunity or a new chapter in their lives. Our presence at Muscat International Airport gives us an opportunity to support those journeys from the outset. Through the Customer Service Unit, we are bringing personal guidance together with access to services through our mobile app, helping customers connect with solutions relevant to their time in Oman. This reflects our Beyond Banking philosophy and our commitment to supporting customers wherever their ambitions take them.”

Extending this proposition, the CSU will help customers explore and access a growing ecosystem of travel, lifestyle and destination services, available primarily through Sohar International’s mobile app and enabled by strategic partnerships. The unit will provide guidance at the airport, while the app will allow customers to continue accessing relevant offerings beyond their arrival. Additional propositions for Sohar International customers and airport employees are also being explored, subject to relevant approvals and partnerships.

The CSU will also support eligible visitors seeking to establish a banking relationship in Oman, providing guidance on relevant banking solutions and access to selected welcome benefits. Whether customers are coming to the Sultanate to visit, live, work, invest or do business, the unit aims to help them navigate their needs through a convenient combination of personal support and digital access.

The soft launch represents a further step in Sohar International’s Beyond Banking journey, strengthening its engagement with Oman’s tourism, business and investment ecosystem. Through its presence at Muscat International Airport, the Bank aims to contribute to a welcoming arrival experience and build customer relationships that continue throughout their time in Oman.
